Description

Ahead of the 2024 U.S. election, the BBC launched a campaign that positioned BBC News as a clear, independent voice in an increasingly polarized media landscape. Rather than focus on candidates, partisan narratives, or sensational headlines, the campaign centered on a broader message: helping audiences cut through noise and think critically about the issues shaping the world.

The campaign launched in April 2024, six months ahead of the election, allowing the BBC to establish a distinct point of view before the news cycle reached full intensity. Visual assets were built using the BBC three-block grid system, connecting the work back to the wider Made to Make You Think brand platform. Across social and digital placements, triptych compositions and carefully selected imagery focused on global issues and real-world impact rather than political personalities. The result was a campaign that felt immediate and relevant while staying true to the BBC’s editorial values of clarity, independence, and impartial reporting.

Overview & Role

Ankita was design lead on BBC’s first 2024 U.S. Election campaign, working under senior creative, marketing, and editorial leadership. She developed paid and organic social assets, digital placements, and campaign adaptations across platforms. Her role included visual research, image selection, layout design, and extending the existing BBC brand system into a timely editorial campaign built for a major global news moment.
